The second of the ‘Four Foundations’ meditations. There is a very important question related to the practice of this method: What is calming and relaxing? The classical Buddhist theory calls calming and relaxing ‘entering into state.’ During the practice there is a factor deterring one from ‘entering into state,’ which is the resisting mind. This method aims to eliminate the resisting mind and let the mind go from the ordinary state and enter into the higher and deeper stte. This method provides an effective way for the beginners to attain ‘entering into state.’
